Communication is essential for students to be successful. An effective education takes place where there are strong partnerships between parents/guardians and the child’s class teacher(s). This section was designed to provide families with a centralized spot for important and general information and resources. We encourage parents/guardians to get involved, volunteer, visit the school and ask questions.

At Ogden School District, we aim to develop our students intellectually in a happy and stimulating environment where they will experience a well balanced, but rigorous, academic program. Firm foundations established in K-12, prepare students for the future, and OSD is focused on studies that center on guiding questions that open up and develop thinking skills, subject knowledge, concepts and ideas while allowing each student to progress their potential at their own pace.

At Ogden School District, students are the center of everything we do! With the support of our school community, the dedication of our school staff and the assistance of many volunteers, we continue to demonstrate excellence in student learning and achievement at all levels. Dear Bobcat families, students and community members,

My name is Julie Neilson and I am the principal at Bonneville Elementary. I am honored to lead a school with hard working students, an extremely dedicated staff and a supportive school community. I feel very luck to be part of such a great community of students and families.

I have been dedicated to education for twenty years. Prior to becoming the principal here, I have worked with students from Kindergarten through 9th grade in a variety of roles. I have been the principal at James Madison Elementary in Ogden School District. I have also worked as a literacy specialist in Davis School District and have been an Assistant Principal at Syracuse Arts Academy, a K-9th grade charter school. While all of these roles have been close to my heart, my favorite role was being a classroom teacher. I was lucky enough to have taught 2nd, 5th & 6th grades in Hawaii, California and Utah.

I view education as a life-long process and continue to learn every year from our students, teachers, and parents in Ogden School District. Most Importantly, I believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I look forward to working with the Bonneville Elementary School Community.
